We exist to glorify Jesus Christ through worship, prayer, Biblical teaching, and honest relationships in our neighborhoods and in the nations. Prayer Prayer is not simply a spiritual activity we do, but it is actually a vital part of our relationship with God, where we both speak and listen to God the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. Because God is personal, we are invited to draw near and let our requests be known to him. In prayer the depths of our spirit can be in communion with the depths of the Spirit of God and out of this encounter will come things like instruction, guidance, and power as we connect with who He is. Prayer is more than words though. Jesus himself in Mathew 6:7, says that prayer is more than just saying prayers, but prayer is our very conversing and connecting with God as we go deeper into our knowledge and understanding of who he is. Our prayer should be honest, simple, and said in a way that reflects who we are. Something happens when we come to God in prayer. Our dependence on God plus his ability to meet our needs, result in our experiencing intimacy with the Father. The more we pray, the more we are intimate we can become with him, and the more we know the Bible, the more we will know God and how to talk with him. Worship We exist to worship. What does that mean? For many people today, worship means what we do when we sing before the sermon. Actually, worship is so much more. In Isaiah 43:7, the bible tells us this, “everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made”. Worship is our awareness of the beauty and greatness of God, as revealed in Jesus Christ, and our response to who he is, what he has done, and what he is doing. Since the Bible is our source of knowing God, we base our worship of him as the scripture portrays his nature, character, and actions. That is why we teach the Bible so much at Lifepointe. Seeing him, as he is revealed in the Bible, allows us worship him as fully as we can. We believe that we are to respond to him physically, emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. We do this through teaching, music, prayer, fasting, giving, obedience and in relationships. At Lifepointe, we are driven to worship God and we invite you to join us as we glorify Jesus Christ and experience him for all he is and all that he has done. |
