1. The highest priority in the life of a Christian and the highest priority of the church is to live for the glory of God. (John 13:32 ; 14:13; 15:8; 16:14; 17:1-5; 17:10) 2. Servanthood is the true model of ministry in the life of a believer and in the life of the church. (John 13:1-17) 3. Loving one another in God's love is the highest distinctive mark that shows we know God personally and belong to Him. (John 13:34-35; 15:17) 4. Jesus Christ is the only way to have a personal relationship with God (John 14 :1-11). 5. The source of both power and security in a believer's life is found in the abiding presence of the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16-17 ; 25-26 ; 15:26 ; 16:7-11 ; 13-15) 6. The key to becoming a growing mature child of God is gained when we abide in Christ and His word. (John 15:1-17) 7. The people of God are meant to be God's witness of who Christ is in a world that does not know Him nor embrace Him. (John 15:18-16:4 ; 16:17-22 ; 16:33) 8. The place of communication between the believer and God is found in personal prayer. (John 14:12-14 ; 16:23-24 ; 16:26-28 ; John 17:1-26) |
